Analysing Film Magazine Covers

What do black and white images symbolise:

•For me a b/w image releases the viewer from the confusion that colour puts on the eye.

•Colour image titillates the eye whereas a b/w image reaches the soul 
and almost lifts the spirit.

•I believe it is a creative art form, I tend to stop and look more deeply into an image and its meaning if it is stripped down to its bare bones.
